Plus Size Young Professional

Being a plus-size young professional on a strict budget isn't that hard. I have stockpiled my closet over the months and continue to do so. Each paycheck I usually purchase one dress or item that can be a staple in my wardrobe.

I used to incorporate more colors and chunky jewelry but in a government office I have toned that down and typically go for the neutrals and classic jewelry. Sometimes I do add a few splashes of color, but I find that any neutral works with most staples I have so I continue to do that.

In Picture A I dressed to impress as I was recruiting at the College of Charleston. In Picture B I dressed more of the governmental role as I was being recognized by the City of Charleston's Mayor. Tell me some of your favorite outfits that work for your budget.

  1. You look amazing!

These days I mostly wear yoga pants. Sad, I know. I'm working on getting a little bit dressier though...I do love to dress up and wear cute clothes, but I'm trying to lose some weight and currently most of my clothes don't even fit...so when I buy new things, it's usually comfy/stretchy/boring kind of stuff.

Thanks for linking up at Wordy Wednesday!

  2. Carrie,

I always get compliments on my outfits, but most of my outfits are under $20 and from Ross. Mainly because I wear a lot of dresses and they're real cheap and unique there. I have always been a fan of dresses because they're an outfit. No need to buy matching pants/top. Thank you for commenting with some very encouraging words!
